Running a little late? That is exactly what brunch is for. Because we serve our breakfast and brunch dishes all day, you do not need to beat the clock. Roll in mid morning or early afternoon and you can still order anything from a stack of pancakes to a full cooked plate, paired with a proper coffee or a cold drink in the sunshine.
What Makes a Great Brunch
The best brunch spots get the balance right between savoury comfort and sweet indulgence, and that is the heart of our menu. On the savoury side, you will find brunch classics done well: Breakfast Eggs on sourdough, the New York Salmon Bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, fried egg and red onion, and Benny's Benedict Bagel with mushroom, spinach and hollandaise. For the avocado lovers, our premium egg sets pair smashed avocado with options like feta, bacon and hollandaise, or avocado and salmon.
On the sweeter side, this is where brunch really comes into its own. Our stacked pancakes arrive warm and fluffy, our traditional Belgian waffles have deep pockets made for holding sauce, and our French Toast is infused with vanilla and cinnamon. Each comes with your choice of bacon or seasonal fruit and sauces such as Nutella, honey or maple syrup, with the option to add ice cream. If you cannot choose between sweet and savoury, our Chicken and Belgian Waffles with buttermilk chicken and hot honey settles the argument beautifully.
A Full Scottish for the Brunch Crowd
No brunch menu in the Highlands would be complete without a proper cooked plate. Our All Day Breakfast brings together egg, bacon, link sausage, lorne sausage, baked beans, mushrooms, tomato, haggis, tattie scone, black pudding and toast, and it even comes with a breakfast tea or black coffee. There is a full vegetarian version too, swapping in veggie haggis, veggie sausage, hummus and olives, so the whole table is looked after. For the full story on our morning menu, our breakfast in Inverness page goes into detail on every dish.

Lighter Brunch Choices
Brunch does not have to mean a feast. If you are after something lighter, our Rendezvous Porridge Bowl comes with raisins, honey, sunflower seeds, banana and seasonal berries, made with dairy, oat or soya milk, and our Overnight Oats blend banana, peanut butter, strawberry jelly and fresh strawberries. A toasted bagel, a filled roll or eggs on toast all make a gentle start to the day. To drink, our milkshakes, fruit smoothies and frappuccinos are a brunch favourite, especially when the sun is out.
The Setting: Brunch With a Story
Inverness has plenty of places to eat, but few with the character of Rendezvous Cafe. Our building has lived many lives, from a Northern Meeting ballroom to a record shop, with real musical history woven through it. Today it is a vintage cinema themed cafe, with classic films playing quietly while you eat. It is cosy, welcoming and genuinely different, the kind of place that turns a quick brunch into a proper sit down. You can read the full tale on our history page.
Coffee matters at brunch, and ours is taken seriously. The Times listed us among the top five coffee shops in Inverness, so whether you order a flat white, a latte or something from our coffee menu, it will be made with care. We even offer broad spectrum CBD coffee and a range of CBD teas if you fancy something a little more relaxing with your meal.

Brunch for Weekends and Catch Ups
Brunch is the social meal, and our room is made for it. Weekends see friends gathering over coffee and waffles, families settling in with the little ones, and visitors taking a breather between sights. Because there is no set sitting and no rush, you can talk, linger and order a second round of pancakes without anyone hovering by the table. Midweek brunch is just as welcome, and often a little quieter if you prefer a calm corner. One regular summed it up nicely after a late breakfast that drifted past lunchtime, telling us the service was warm, the Belgian waffles were fantastic and the staff happily cooked fresh eggs even though the clock had moved on. That is the spirit of brunch at Rendezvous: relaxed, generous and on your schedule.
