A good lunch starts with the simple things done well. Our homemade Soup of the Day comes with bread or a buttered roll and changes regularly, with gluten free bread available. Pair it with a sandwich, toastie or ciabatta in our Soup and Sandwich combination for a proper midday refuel. Our sandwiches are generous and varied. Choose from chicken mayo with lettuce and tomato, smoked salmon with cream cheese, tuna mayo with red onion, cheese and ham, or our Scottish twist of haggis, cheddar and onion chutney. Toasties and ciabattas add warm options like brie, bacon and cranberry, chicken, pesto and mozzarella, or roasted peppers, halloumi, beetroot and pesto for the vegetarians. Every sandwich, toastie and ciabatta is served with rainbow crisps and coleslaw, and gluten free bread is available throughout.

Salads and Bigger Plates

If you want something fresher, our salads deliver. The Halloumi Salad brings beetroot, roast peppers, olives, red onion and tomato, the Grilled or Buttermilk Chicken Salad Bowl adds diced bacon and French dressing, and the House Green is a crisp, simple side or light lunch in its own right.

For a heartier lunch, head to the grill. Our Rendezvous Beef Burger is a proper 8oz patty with mayo, lettuce, tomato and red onion, with add ons like cheese, bacon, fried onion or an egg. There is a Grilled or Buttermilk Chicken Burger and a vegetarian Halloumi Stack Burger too, all served with Dutch chips. Speaking of which, our Dutch chips are thick cut and golden, available in a Naked Dutch Basket or loaded up as Dutch Chaos Chips with bacon, jalapenos and melted cheese. The triple layered Club Sandwich with bacon, chicken, mayo, lettuce and tomato rounds out the bigger plates.

All Day Breakfast at Lunchtime

Sometimes lunch means breakfast, and we understand completely. Our All Day Breakfast is available right through the day and brings together egg, bacon, link sausage, lorne sausage, baked beans, mushrooms, tomato, haggis, tattie scone, black pudding and toast, served with a breakfast tea or black coffee. Our building has been a Northern Meeting ballroom and a record shop, and it carries genuine musical history, now reimagined as a vintage cinema themed cafe with classic films playing in the background.
